Delegate Joseline Peña-Melnyk

Delegate Joseline Peña-Melnyk is the proud mother of three, devoted wife, and a true advocate for the people. After receiving her law degree, Delegate Peña-Melnyk pursued a successful legal career both as a defense attorney and as an Assistant United States Attorney prosecuting criminal cases. Delegate Peña-Melnyk served a two term tenure on the College Park City Council before being elected to the Maryland House of Delegates in 2006. Now in her second term in the House, the Delegate serves on the House Health and Government Operations Committee, the Public Health and Long Term Care Subcommittee, and the Government Operations Subcommittee. She co-chairs the Joint Committee on Behavioral Health Services, sits on the Governor’s Wellmobile Program Advisory Board and the Alzheimer’s Disease and Related Disorders Council, and chairs the Washington Suburban Sanitary Commission Committee. Delegate Peña-Melnyk continues to fight for health issues, women’s rights, the environment, and the betterment of her district and all of Maryland.
